Nigeria cried when few Islamist militants set off bombs across Nigeria on Christmas day. The militants has targeted three churches that killed at least 27 people. This blasts will raise a fear that militants are trying to ignite civil war. This brutal incident occurred when good holy people were praying in the eve of Christmas. May God Bless the souls.

The Boko Haram Islamist secretary which aims to impose- “sharia law” across the country has claimed the responsibility for the three church bombs. It also reported that hours after the first bomb, blasts were reported at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church in the central which is an ethnically and religiously mixed town of Jos.

World should not just listen to the cry of innocent people, it’s time to pay back. Why don’t Armed forces took any step to catch hold of the militants and clean them off.

It seems that now it has emerged as the biggest security threat in Nigeria, a country of 160 million split evenly between Christians and Muslims, who for the most part live side by side in peace.

EURO Football 2012

There were qualifying competition for UEFA Euro 2012 in a series of competitions held over 2010 and 2011 to decide the qualifiers for UEFA Euro 2012. PPF Scheme INDIA Higher returns of Investment

There is sign of relief and good news for the PPF account holders, small depositors and persons keeping money in the schemes operated by post offices. they will get higher rate of return from December 1, 2011. The government notified increase in interest rates on public provident fund (PPF) to 8.6 per cent from 8 per cent now, and also raised ceiling on annual contributions to the fund to Rs one lakh from Rs 70,000. Interest rates on savings account in post offices would also go up to 4 per cent from 3.5 per cent at present.

Similarly, interest rates on deposits of other maturities too would be raised from December. Further, the sale of Kisan Vikas Patras (KVP) will be discontinued from November 30. There was an apprehension about KVP, which was kind of a bearer instrument, that it was used for money laundering. In addition, the maturity period of monthly investment schemes (MIS) and national savings certificates would be reduced from six to five years. MIS would earn an interest of 8.2 per cent, but accounts opened on/after December 1 would not be entitled for bonus.

The reforms of the small savings schemes were stalled after protest from agents and some political parties. The agents were protesting the reduction in commission paid to them. The implementation of the report will help garner funds for the government from small savings schemes. The increase in the PPF investment ceiling is expected to get a good response from investors, officials said.

Singapore Immigration Policy 2011 -2012

Singapore's new immigration policy will be applicable from Jan 2012. It would makes work permits tougher for Indian workers with middle-level skills
The middle, the lower middle level foreigners are on employment pass. The changes will apply to Q1 pass holders, which is the lowest category of employment passes, who have to earn at least S$3,000, up from the current S$2,800. The qualifying salary for P2 employment pass will go up from S$4,000 to S$4,500.

We can expect a moderate impact on Indian workers who apply under the Q1 and P2 categories. These are middle-level professional, managerial, engineering and technical talents.

However, typically, workers from India come with better qualifications and complement the local talent; therefore they command a relatively better salary. The reason of this change in regulations is to tighten the eligibility requirement for entering lower and mid-level jobs. this way the hiring process will include better educational qualifications and higher qualifying salaries. The changes are also likely to impact small and medium enterprises in singapore. While considering global slowdown already affecting business and economy, this policy will push up wage cost.

LOKPAL BILL INDIA

Today Nation is against the corrupt forces. Anna Hazare has started a new movement.

The Lokpal which is a body with a chairperson who is or was a Chief Justice of India and eight other members including four judicial members - who will be former or sitting judges of Supreme Court or chief justices of the high court.

The Lokpal Bill, an effort to Stop the constant corruption in public life, was first floated in the late 60s, but failed to become law despite successive attempts.

Implementation of the Lokpal Bill will hopefully reduce corruption in India.

It provides for filing complaints of corruption against ministers and members of parliament.

The government's Lokpal Bill has kept the Prime Minister and the judiciary as well as conduct of MPs in Parliament out of the sphere of the anti-corruption watchdog.
The bill gives permission to Lokpal to probe any Union minister or officials above rank without any sanction.

The Lokpal will have its own prosecution and investigation wing with officers and staff necessary to carry out its functions.

Land Acquisition

We do like to invest for our future benefits. Investment in House or Plot is consider to be one of the best investment. But now we have encountered few cases where Lands were forcefully or inappropriately acquired. There were few Laws and agreement on Land regulations which needs to be imposed.

Land acquisition means legal acquisition of land by the government (central or state) or government agency for some public purpose (like educational institute, hospitals etc.) from the individual landowner by paying a fixed compensation. Be it Mayawati's invocation of 'emergency powers' to acquire land in Greater Noida or Tata-Singur land issue, or the latest, POSCO's project halted at Jagatsinghpur demanding enhanced compensation to land losers. Land acquisition are disturbing not only policymakers and industry but also the civil society and the citizens.

who defines the market value of land? This is especially relevant in a scenario where land is not routinely bought and sold. As a result, the market price of land becomes a nebulous concept. The buyer has to negotiate the price of land with each seller who may have a different perception of the market price.
While we should learn from the states that have managed to acquire land successfully, it is necessary to adopt new innovations. We need complete digitisation of land records throughout the country to ensure that the rightful owner benefits from the compensation measures.

The apex realty body CREDAI said that purchase of private land should not be covered under the proposed land acquisition bill else housing prices would rise sharply and the township development would be difficult.

The Ministry of Rural Development has posted 'The Draft National Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Bill, 2011' on its website for public comments. According to the draft, R&R provisions will apply only when private firms buy land, equal to or more than 100 acres, on their own and if they approach the government for partial acquisition for public purpose. No private land acquisition should be covered under the proposed Act. If this is covered, housing prices will go up.

In case of urban areas, the compensation amount would be not less than twice that of the market value determined, whereas in rural areas it would be multiple times the original market value."In R&R benefits, the stipulation regarding giving 20 per cent of the developed land back to owner will make township project which are out of reach for middle-class buyer," CREDAI said.

I was exclaimed in joy when i got my first job. I was so excited that i could have thrown party to the city. Its like days of hard work and sleepless nights were now giving me rewards.

There was time i spent entire day searching for job and eating a rolled sandwich which was the only food i could afford. I woke up early in the morning and rushed to open and check and my mail if in case i might have got some interview schedule, with heart of aspirations and desperation of job i would have checked my mail box almost all the clicks of seconds.

Having dreams to become successful and live my life on my style and rule ( which has no rules).I started my job hunt as soon as i hold my MBA Degree with dual specialization of HR and IT.Hoping this could be deadly weapon to hold in corporate battle field. I was not known that the world has already knocked down punches on other aspirant students like me.

I used to knock doors on entire corporate world but its like common statement : we will get back to you. I even spent my entire energy and penny for searching the contact person in the telephone directory. After several months finally i got the right connection. they told they would like to take me as trainee, i thought at least this could be my first step i accepted that.

The day i joined i was overwhelmed with the environment and work culture. I was allotted a desk in the corner, the desk was full of papers and files. It seems i was thrown into a garbage plant. I was asked to consolidated the various reports by digging into those files. Also i was treated like i am alien and came to attack their planet.I feel we all are struggling for unwanted treasure.

Well this isn't enough : i was asked to work in a profile which could be easily handled by any other graduates. but rather then roaming on road, cybercafes and listening to hard cunning words from this cruel world i have no other choice to accept that job.... After several years today i am standing in front of that office and just whispered to myself, though i got rid of you but still that mark is within me.

London Riots

London is going under tremendous pressure. British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Tuesday police will crack down hard to suppress a wave of rioting and looting across London, he said this was the worst violence in the British capital in decades.
Politicians and police firmly blamed the violence, in which shops were looted and cars and buildings set ablaze in several mostly poor areas of London.
But some commentators and local residents said its roots lay in tensions and anger over economic hardship in a city where the gap between the haves and have-nots is highly visible and the prospects for many youths are in danger.
There are problems in terms of Jobs and Money. The unrest poses an added challenge to Cameron as Britain's economy struggles to grow while his government slashes public spending and raises taxes to help eliminate a budget deficit.
They also show an ugly side of London to the rest of the world less than a year before it hosts the 2012 Olympic Games, an event which organizers hope will showcase a dynamic, prosperous and cosmopolitan city.
However, police have also faced criticism for failing to bring the situation under control as gangs of youths mobilized using social media and looted shops at leisure.
The first riots broke out on Saturday in London's northern Tottenham district, when a peaceful protest over the police shooting of a suspect two days earlier led to violence.
Tottenham includes areas with the highest unemployment rates in London. It also has a history of racial tension with local young people, especially blacks, resenting police behavior including the use of stop and search powers.

The global economy stumbled again, but now its deeper into crisis as stock markets slow down further and also the investors losing confidence that the United States and Europe can rein in their debt burdens quickly.
European and Asian shares tumbled .Investors fear that, with confidence in the global economy's prospects evaporating, financial markets will remain in a slump.
Global leaders have failed to reverse the sliding markets.In the United States, President Barack Obama called on Monday for urgent action on the U.S. budget deficit, but his proposal on taxes was promptly refused by Republicans.
"Markets can adjust to a downgrade of global growth, but they cannot cope with a increase loss of confidence in leadership and a growing sense that policymakers are disconnected from reality."
On the political front, Obama said on Monday he hoped the loss of the prized AAA credit rating would add urgency to U.S. budget cutting plans.

Bomb Blasts in Mumbai

There is another blow to Indian security measures when Serial blasts struck Mumbai Wednesday evening, less than three years after the 26/11 terrorist attacks of 2008. The three blasts, in sequence, were timed at 6.30 pm, 6.45 pm, and 7 pm IST, and targeted in that order Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and the Kabutarkhana area of Dadar West. Zaveri Bazaar, centre of the jewellery industry, is adjacent the iconic Mumbadevi temple from which the city derives its name; both Zaveri Bazaar and Kabutarkhana were also targeted in the 1993 serial blasts.

Incometaxindia.gov.in --  It provides an Excel sheet that you can download. The Excel sheet has an index where you can choose topics relevant to you. It has a compute button which helps in calculations, while the validate button checks for errors.

 

Detail Info for Exemption from filing income tax return

The exemption to file return for income up to 5 lakh looks good but it will be very difficult to  fulfil the conditions..

There was an announcement that salaried taxpayers with an annual income of up to Rs 5 lakh need not file their returns.but it’s just a trap.

According to the notification, a salaried person is exempt from filing his return for the financial year 2010-11 if he fulfils the following conditions:

a) I income after allowable deductions is up to Rs 5 lakh

b) I income is only from salary and savings bank interest

c)   Salary is from one employer

d)   Savings bank interest is below 10,000.

e)   Tax on bank interest is paid and included in Form 16

The announcement comes at a time when Form 16 have already been prepared and issued to taxpayers. Will it be possible to make the necessary changes in the Form 16 at this late stag
