Emotional Intelligence --- Our tool to get going

We( Human) are the blenders of emotions and feelings. We need to know what and when to use the appropriately to get right results.One of them is Emotional intelligence. It is the ability to be aware of emotions of self and others and also use of that awareness to inform your decisions and actions. This need four components: self-understanding, self-regulation, social recognition, and social regulation. The emotionally intelligent individual is one who can identify both verbal and nonverbal cues in people and who can easily build rapport. This person is flexible, intuitive, and can manage their emotions for a positive outcome.

Emotional intelligence is a complex subject and even though while evaluating your self it is easier to examine the individual components for your strengths and weaknesses, the emotionally intelligent individual uses all of these components in harmony. The stronger your abilities are in each of the areas, the greater your emotional intelligence.

Example : You need to know when to become angry, with whom, for what reason and context and how to express that.People with higher levels of emotional intelligence were less likely to experience symptoms of burnout.

Further emotional intelligence has been found to be related to bottom line business results in sales, retention, profitability, and productivity. There are Competencies which are most related to emotional intelligence :Listening;Conflict Management;get along with People;Dealing with Ambiguity;Patience;Composure.
